NEGLIGENCE IN CARE OF THE ELDERLY

Detractors of medical negligence litigation routinely belittle its importance. However, we at Pearson Hinchliffe Solicitors believe that our experience of helping older people alone, gives us reason for pursuing the rights of our clients.

Older clients often face significant barriers to gaining the justice and dignity they deserve from the NHS, private care homes and other medical practitioners - we think is simply not fair.

In our efforts to redress this imbalance Pearson Hinchliffe's medical negligence team will resolutely assert the rights of older clients who have not received the standards of care which they are entitled to expect.

A CARE OF THE ELDERLY NEGLIGENCE CASE SUCCESS STORY

Mr X was being treated in hospital after suffering a stroke. He was wheelchair bound. He was left unattended in his wheelchair with the brakes inadequately applied. His wheelchair rolled out of control down a small hill. He fell from the wheelchair and suffered bruising, grazing and a broken femur.

The case was dealt with under a No Win No Fee agreement and although initially denied the hospital went on to admit to negligence and to provide a settlement.

Mr X's family later wrote to say "the case was handled in a thorough and professional way, coupled with good humour and warm support, thank you for a job very well done".
