Get to know John a little better

“I was born in Clarksfield Oldham in 1957 attending Clarksfield Primary School and Oldham Hulme Grammar School. After completing my studies at Liverpool University and Chester Law College I returned to Oldham wanting to bring my skills to bear in the local community.

I have long had a vocation to assert the rights of the individual against the state and big organisations. I am also driven to help improve local health care services (not least because myself and my family all access them). I believe that by asserting valid clinical negligence claims not only do my clients obtain entitlement to compensation and justice but health care services also improve.

This is a subject for which I have a passion and I have devoted the last 10 years solely to this area of work.

In my spare time I really enjoy running. I’ve even taken part in several marathons and actually ran the New York Marathon in 2008. My colleague Richard Eastwood and I appeared in the local newspaper to publicise our fundrasing effort for the charity ‘Get Kids Going’. Here’s the clipping;

I attend Springhead Congregational Church where I am a Deacon. I am the weakest link in an otherwise competent rock band called the Receeders. I enjoy playing football, golf and squash.

I get great satisfaction from providing people with independent reliable explanations for adverse medical outcomes and it is particularly gratifying to bring cases to a successful conclusion. Such cases have involved awards of several hundreds of thousands of pounds arising from e.g. delayed diagnosis of cervical cancer, negligently performed total hip replacement, negligent sterilisation, birth trauma and cases involving fatality.” John Pollitt
